Class Structure

Vocal Technique:

Like most things, singing is a building block process. We will start with the basic techniques of singing and move onto the more advanced ones as the student is ready. We start each lesson covering the technique needed to sing. We start from basics and add to them. After the teacher has explained the techniques the class performs them together. We then show the students how to apply the same techniques to suitable songs.

What will the students learn:

• How to feel comfortable on stage
• Breathing
• Pronunciation
• Singing in tune
• Low and high notes
• Creating the best tone
• Vocal warm up exercises
• Vocal health
• How to sing different styles of music
• How to sing harmony
• Proper phrasing
• How to use the microphone
• Basic number system
• Singing with music tracks
• Memory, Concentration, and Focus

The Songs:

We will sing songs the students enjoy. This is determined by the likes and personal preferences of the age group.

When we are confident the students have a good understanding and can apply the basic techniques, they will learn to sing harmonies. Singing harmony is a lot of fun.

To keep lessons fun the students are welcome to suggest songs.

The teacher chooses easier songs to start with, so students can practice and consolidate the vocal techniques they are taught.
